Position:          Just Bowl Officer

Salary:              £22,000

Flexible:          Home based from a flexible location, but travel required for delivery of the programme across 12 sites initially with venues to be confirmed. Travel to the Head Office in Melton Mowbray will also be required.

Contract:          This post is on a fixed term basis until December 31st, 2019 with a view to an additional 18 months based on the performance of the project and an additional funding award from Sport England.

The Organisation: The Bowls Development Alliance (BDA) is an organisation created to lead on the development of the sport of bowls through the clubs, counties and coaches in England. Working in partnership with Bowls England (BE) and the English Indoor Bowling Association Ltd (EIBA) the BDA aims strengthen resilience in the sport by reaching 104,145 people and directly influencing 36,661

The BDA is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and highly organised individual to deliver the Just Bowl pilot project which aims to directly influence those who are presently inactive and directly influence them to take part in a minimum of 30 mins activity per week as well as moving those that are more able further along the continuum of activity.

The project aims to provide in-depth insight and data about what makes people become active, maintain activity and in so doing improve their well-being both physically and mentally.

The successful applicant will need to be a people person with the ability and skills to work alongside staff, carers and volunteers to deliver a quality experience that is engaging and fun. Candidates will need to demonstrate a good understanding of data collection and work with the monitoring & evaluation partner to ensure that all relevant data is collected within the agreed time period.

A minimum of two years sports development experience would be an advantage but not essential.

Knowledge of bowls would be an advantage but is not essential.
